Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure vehicle battery is disconnected before beginning.

1. Remove existing stereo: Use proper DIN tools to release and slide out old unit.
2. Connect wiring harness: Match colors (Red=Ignition, Yellow=Battery+, Black=Ground, etc.). Solder or use crimp connectors.
3. Connect antenna plug: Push firmly into antenna socket on rear of unit.
4. Secure unit in dash: Slide Sony unit into DIN sleeve and lock with mounting tabs.
5. Reconnect vehicle battery and test basic functions before final reassembly.

First-Time Setup

Reconnect vehicle battery and power on the unit.

Bluetooth Pairing & Operation

1. Pairing: With unit on, press SOURCE until "BT AUDIO" appears. On phone, search for Bluetooth devices and select "MEX-BT4000P". Enter PIN "0000" if required.
2. Making a Call: Use phone's dialer or voice command. Audio routes through car speakers.
3. Receiving a Call: Press the ENTER button or PHONE button on remote to answer. Press again to end.
4. Streaming Music: Select "BT AUDIO" source. Control playback (Play/Pause, Next/Previous) from unit or phone.
5. Phonebook Access: Some phones allow downloading contacts to the unit's memory for voice-dial recognition.

WARNING! Do not operate the Bluetooth phone functions while driving. Park safely first.

USB & iPod Playback

Supports MP3, WMA, AAC files on USB. iPod/iPhone control via USB.

1. Connect device: Plug USB cable into port and device.
2. Play: Select USB source. Unit will read and begin playback automatically.
3. Navigation: Use TUNE/SEEK to browse folders (MP3/WMA) or menus (iPod).
4. iPod Control: Basic functions like Play/Pause, Next/Previous, and menu navigation are supported. Charging is provided.
5. Repeat/Shuffle: Press the ENTER button during playback to access repeat (1/ALL/OFF) and shuffle (ON/OFF) modes.
