Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure you have the correct wiring harness for your vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
  2. Remove the existing stereo from the dashboard.
  3. Connect the Sony wiring harness to the vehicle's harness (match colors: red to ignition, yellow to constant power, black to ground).
  4. Connect the antenna cable.
  5. Slide the mounting sleeve into the dashboard opening.
  6. Insert the stereo into the sleeve until it clicks into place.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified professional. Incorrect wiring can cause damage or fire hazard.

First-Time Setup

Power on the stereo; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use TUNE/TRACK to adjust.
  2. Program radio presets: Tune to desired station, press and hold a preset button (1-6) for FM1/FM2/AM bands.
  3. Adjust audio settings: Use SOUND button to cycle through Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader.
  4. Attach the faceplate: Align and push until it clicks.

CAUTION! Do not force the faceplate. Ensure it is securely attached.

Connecting Devices

AUX Input: Front 3.5mm jack for MP3 players, smartphones. Rear Pre-outs: For connecting external amplifiers (if equipped).

  1. Turn off the stereo before connecting devices.
  2. Plug the 3.5mm audio cable from your device into the front AUX jack.
  3. Select AUX as the source by pressing the SOURCE button.

Tip: For best audio quality, set your external device's volume to about 80% and control final volume from the car stereo.

Playing Media

Supports Audio CD, CD-R/RW, MP3 CDs.

  1. Insert disc: Press EJECT to open tray, place disc label-side up, press EJECT again to close.
  2. Play: Press PLAY/PAUSE; select track with SKIP buttons or number keys.
  3. Stop: Press EJECT to stop and open tray.
  4. Skip: PREV/NEXT for tracks.
  5. Random/Repeat: Press RPT or RDM during play for repeat or random modes.
  6. MP3 Playback: Navigate folders using the SKIP buttons (long press).
  7. Scan: Press and hold SKIP to scan through tracks.

WARNING! Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped CDs. Do not insert foreign objects into the CD slot.

Security Features

Detachable Faceplate: Remove for theft prevention. Security Code: Optional code can be set (see manual for procedure). If power is disconnected, you may need to enter the code to reactivate the stereo.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth for the faceplate and unit. For the CD lens, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents, aerosols, or abrasive cleaners. Keep the unit dry.

Troubleshooting
